Now years later, they are looking a little scuffed, dull and scratched and you long for that fresh, crisp look of a freshly sanded floor.

 
  • Some of the reasons why this may have happened to your floor is from:

    • Dropping things on it

    • Walking in high heels or football boots

    • Dragging heavy things across it

    • Using wrong floor cleaner

    • Water and moisture

    • Dirty shoes

    • Huge and heavy furniture

    • Accidental spills

    • Young children and pets

    But that’s just living, right? So don’t worry, our floor sanding professionals can get your floor looking good as new.

  • Having them sanded and polished every 5 – 7 years is the best way to achieve the longevity of your floors. In general though, you can get away with having them done every 10 – 15 years. Depending on your lifestyle, we can give you a more accurate time frame of how often this should be done.

  • The sanding will increase the life of the boards while bringing out their former beauty. This will significantly enhance the value of your property and enjoyment while living there.

  • This type of floor can usually be sanded and refinished several times before it needs replacing. Most of the time, damage to floors from high heels or dropping heavy objects is repairable, but we'll also let you know if it's gone too far and what solutions we can offer you.

  • There are a few factors that go into a time estimate; how large the area is, how much furniture needs repairing and how many repairs are required - Floor Sanding could be from a day - a week depending not here factors. However, we we will always give you a time estimate and keep you informed if there are any changes.

  • There are typically three timber floor sanding machines used:

    • Belt sander

    • Edger

    • Buffing machine

    Different grits on the sander are used to remove the old coating, to quickly even out the wood, then progressively finer grains to get that smooth finish.

  • All of our team are professionals who have spent years perfecting the art of floor sanding. There are quite a few things that can go wrong and could result in irreparable damage, for example the angle of the grinders, or how long you spend in one area - so trust us, we know our floors!
